Located in Boston’s newly developed Innovation District, this design realizes the client’s desire to create an iconic 24,000 sf. space that captures the essence of their entrepreneurial spirit as they grow into a life sciences industry leader. Creating restful enclaves of space for flexibility, collaboration and purposeful visual connections to the expansive views out towards the harbor were a strong focus of the design.

The heart of the space was generated as a large collaboration area off of the entry to serve as a conference suite, for large format training, group gatherings and celebrations. Operable glass and wall surfaces of varying degrees of opacity allows the space to assume many different spatial configurations and captures the qualities of the sun as it moves around the upper story space.

The dynamic qualities of the space both physically and visually not only allows for a more interactive environment between the daily user and the architecture where they can manipulate the spaces as needed, but also allows for a unique interpretation of use that is adaptable to their business needs at any given time.

The live wall off of the main entry both guides users into the space from the elevator arrival and forms a backdrop when the space is opened up for large gatherings. The wall angles towards the extending views and embraces the public seating.
